Light electrical; light fixtures and bulbs, bad receptacles and switches, etc.

Dry wall repair; fix holes, water damage, etc.

Carpentry; siding, steps, decks, windows, doors, demolition, Screened in decks and porches etc.

General maintenance; trash removal, Gutter cleaning, pressure washing, etc.

Hello, my name is Leon Newman. I have been in Construction trades for over 40 years. My wife Margie and I moved here from Washington state in 2022, to expand our Dahlia farm, Barnstar Blooms. I have had my own handyman business, called Leons Toolbox, in three different states now, starting in Alaska, where I am originally from, in 1990. I did property management, maintained rentals, remodels, and built homes from the ground up. Then in Washington state I worked for a property management company, was an installer for closet systems and custom blinds, then got into commercial construction. I was lead carpenter for a large construction company when we decided to move to Tennessee. I have my Journeyman’s card, OSHA 10, and graduated from the Construction Industry Training Council of Washington. I worked for a Handyman company out of Chattanooga for the first few months after we moved to Tennessee, then installed fireplaces with Fireplaces Direct out of Crossville to be closer to home. In order to have a more flexible schedule to have time for the farm and my granddaughters, we have decided to bring back Leons Toolbox to the Bledsoe, Cumberland, Rhea, Sequatchie, Van Buren and White County areas.  We love the area, wish we would have moved here earlier,  and look forward to helping you with your household projects.

We bill on with a time and materials model. Due to travel distances and gas prices we have established a minimum fee. The “start fee” includes the first hour of service. Our “start fee” is $90 and our hourly rate is $45 an hour.

 As an example, a 2-hour job would be; $90 (start fee which includes first hour) + $45 (for second hour) = $135. Tax is included in hourly rates .

We can discuss the acquisition of materials on a case-by-case basis. Although we can pick up the materials, it is advisable for the customer to pick up any materials needed, as a material run normally takes 1 ½ – 2 hours depending on travel distance to hardware store.
